Algorithms for massive data sets.

Image & video databases

Internet Technologies.
Relevant application domains include data mining, data warehousing,
information retrieval, decision support systems, medical image
databases, query processing, and effective Web utilization.
The projects involve variety of issues:

Efficient algorithm implementation
-
Data management, with or without interaction with a commercial
database system

Graphical User Interfaces
-
Web User Interfaces
-
Web technologies
-
Image databases
-
Video databases
-
Research in data mining.
Individuals can select projects and emphasis aspects of projects
suitable to their skills and interests (pending approval).
All topics are of practical interest and involve state-of-the-art
techniques and tools.
Suggested projects are available online.
Method:
The various projects will be done in groups of up to three students.
The projects are aimed for an integrated working system, but are
designed to be done independently.
